GitHub Issues are the primary support route for reproducible bugs because they keep the investigation easy to track. For questions, feature ideas, or setup discussion, use GitHub Discussions.

For privacy or data deletion requests, use email rather than a public GitHub Issue, and follow the data deletion instructions for deletion requests.

Before reporting a bug

  • Include the app version, operating system version, device model, and whether you are using PumpSync or a self-hosted backend.
  • Describe the step that failed: subscription restore, backend session, pump account sign-in, pump data sync, or Apple Health write.
  • Include the backend URL only for self-hosted installations where sharing it is safe.
  • Do not include pump account passwords or tokens, service tokens, App Store or App Attest receipts, screenshots containing health data, or other sensitive medical details.

FAQ

What does PumpSync do?

PumpSync syncs your pump data to Apple Health when you request a sync and, after initial setup, automatically checks for any pump data not yet synced when the app opens and during iOS background refresh opportunities. It aims to keep Apple Health less than four hours behind, but iOS may delay background work. Insulin and carbohydrate samples are each written only if you have granted that Apple Health permission.

Can I try PumpSync without a pump account?

Yes. A public demo backend serves deterministic synthetic insulin and carbohydrate data and never contacts your pump service, so you can see exactly how syncing behaves before subscribing or entering real credentials. It is useful both for App Review and testing and for anyone evaluating the app.

Point the app at the demo server instead of a real backend and use the published demo credentials; the demo mode walkthrough has the current server URL and step-by-step setup.

One caution: the demo writes its synthetic samples into the real Apple Health store on your device. Use a test device, or delete the samples in the Apple Health app when you are done.

Do I need a PumpSync subscription?

No. PumpSync supports an App Store subscription and a self-hosted path where you point the app at a backend you operate.

Which pump services does PumpSync support?

PumpSync currently supports Tandem Source, with support for more pump services planned.

Where are my pump account credentials stored?

The app stores your pump account credentials in Keychain with device-only accessibility. Credentials are sent to the backend only during an active HTTPS sync request.

Does PumpSync keep my pump data on the backend?

No. The backend does not persist Tandem username, password, Tandem session cookies, Tandem access tokens, raw Tandem events, or normalized Tandem samples.

How do I remove data?

See the data deletion page for pump account credential removal, Apple Health access revocation, hosted metadata deletion, and self-hosted deletion guidance.

Is PumpSync medical advice?

No. PumpSync is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or dosing recommendations.
